Hello friends! 

I'm writing to invite you to participate in Student Action with Farmworkers' Best SAF Class Ever, a fundraising drive to support our work for greater respect and justice for farmworkers. SAF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring students and farmworkers together to learn about each other’s lives, share resources and skills, improve conditions for farmworkers, and build diverse coalitions working for social change.

I am excited to support this organization and I need your support to make this campaign successful. I have been involved with SAF in the past through the Into the Fields Summer Internship in 2012. I was drawn to SAF because of my parents. Both had worked in the tree orchards of Florida, which is where they met. However, neither were open to their experiences while in the fields, as if they were ashamed or wanted to put the experience to the side. Nonetheless, I wanted to embrace such experience with the hope that it would help me understand their lives a little more and make me part of their journey to where and who they've become. SAF allowed me to have a taste of the farmworker world and I would like you to, also, be part of this world. We may have different careers and experiences, but I believe we can join together to share a greater experience: the experience of being part of social change.

My goal is to raise a minimum of $1000 to support SAF's work educating the public about farmworkers. My campaign begins Wednesday, March 25, 2015 and ends Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Please consider making a $50 tax-deductible contribution to support their work with farmworkers.
